Join us at the TransAtlantic Cultural House in Salt River for a special Sunday afternoon celebrating the living tradition of South African music.We are delighted to present Cape Jazz master Hilton Schilder in an intimate duet with his talented mentee and bassist Clayton Pretorius.
This is more than a concert — it is a meeting of generations. A master musician whose work is deeply rooted in Cape Jazz and Goema shares the stage with one of the exciting young musicians carrying South African jazz forward.
Expect an afternoon of original music, Cape Jazz, Goema, improvisation and stories, presented in the warm and intimate atmosphere of the TransAtlantic Cultural House.
And, of course, there will be Cape koeksisters!
Hilton Schilder – Piano
A celebrated Cape Town musician and important voice in the Cape Jazz tradition, Hilton Schilder brings decades of musical experience, improvisation and heritage to the performance.
Clayton Pretorius – Bass
A talented young bassist and mentee of Hilton Schilder, Clayton represents the next generation of South African jazz musicians.
Together, they create an intimate musical conversation between experience and emerging talent.
