Helderberg Village Music Society

The Helderberg Village Music Society is delighted to welcome acclaimed South African marimba soloist and percussionist Dylan Tabisher back to Helderberg Village on Sunday, 20 September 2026.

Following his memorable solo concert here in 2025, Dylan returns with a fascinating new programme showcasing the extraordinary versatility of the marimba.

The programme includes music by J.S. Bach, Keiko Abe, Piazzolla, Lennon & McCartney and Joseph Schwantner, as well as works by Dylan Tabisher himself. Highlights include movements from Bach's Cello Suite No. 1, Variation 21 from the Goldberg Variations, Blackbird, Dylan's Sage and A Prayer for Healing, composed by his father.

Dylan studied at Stellenbosch University, where he graduated BMus (Hons) cum laude, won the SAMRO Overseas Scholarship Competition and was a semi-finalist in the World Marimba Competition in Germany. He also studied with renowned Japanese marimba artist Keiko Abe.
