Hugh’s Jazz Club presents a special performance by Stogie T

Stogie T is a South African hip hop legend and true O.G, from Tumi and the Volume to his acclaimed solo work, he's toured five continents, battled on KOTD, and recorded with the likes of Styles P, Immortal Technique, and Saul Williams. A two-time SA Hip Hop Awards Lyricist of the Year, his 2018 Sway In The Morning freestyle cemented his status as one of the game's sharpest lyricists.

Rooted in a family steeped in South Africa's liberation struggle, Stogie T gives voice to Black youth on the continent ,their pain, frustration, and hope set against the backdrop of a nation still finding its footing. Much like the cigars he's known for, his music is crafted with precision, useful, entertaining, and built to last.

This time, he takes the stage at Hugh's Jazz Club ,expect an intimate night where jazz sophistication meets razor-sharp lyricism, the venue's warm, smoky ambience named in tribute to Hugh Masekela setting the scene for Stogie T's storytelling and bars. Live instrumentation woven with hip hop's rawest poetry ,a rare crossover set for lovers of both genres.
