Symposium: "Untangling the Threads" An Integrated Understanding of and Response to Anxiety
Sun Oct 18, 08:00 - Sun Oct 18, 15:00
1 Duncombe Rd
ABOUT
Our children and teens are navigating unprecedented compound stressors, from systemic instability to profound social isolation and anxiety. Typically, anxiety is thought about and treated merely as a disorder—something to be managed or eliminated entirely. By bringing together multiple professional perspectives from the fields of psychiatry, psychology, and dietetics, this professional training event aims to address this issue head-on.
Join us for an in-person symposium that brings together expert perspectives from dietetics, psychiatry, neuroscience, and psychology to explore the deep connections between the gut–brain axis, introception, nervous system regulation, and the developing mind—unpacking how physiological cues, relational experiences, and modern psychosocial pressures shape anxious prediction.
By integrating medical, nutritional, psychiatric, and therapeutic lenses, this event offers an embodied, biopsychosocial framework for care, culminating in a dynamic panel discussion that translates cross-disciplinary theory into compassionate, holistic practice and care of the children, adolescents , families and communities that we work with with the goal of supporting the young people that we work with to shift out of a state of survival and symptom management, and into a lived experience of safety, connection, confidence, and long-term resilience.
We can't wait to have you join us for this CPD-accredited symposium, open to medical and allied medical professionals from all disciplines.
CPD points have been applied for.
