ABOUT
tAIT
Cape Town’s iconic pop-rock outfit tAIT return to the stage with renewed energy and a powerful new chapter ahead. Introducing the newest members of the band and showcasing new material along with their classics through live performances across SA.
Fronted by acclaimed songwriter and producer Chris Tait, tAIT first rose to prominence in the early 2000s with their debut album Back Seat Driver, delivering chart-topping hits like " In My Arms " and "The Best Days Of My Life ". The subsequent signing to Next Music in 2005, would go on to produce their next big hit single, She. Their signature blend of emotive songwriting and polished pop-rock quickly cemented them as a mainstay on South African airwaves.
Following a fairly long hiatus, Chris has reignited the band, leading to a full-scale comeback after the release of their brand-new album Fever Dream—their first in over a decade, in November 2025.
Now, joined by Robbie Webb ( Drums), Mike Dorea ( Bass) and Matthew Mitchell (Lead Guitar), fans can experience tAIT live once again as they revisit the songs that defined an era while introducing a bold new sound shaped by years of growth, resilience, and creative evolution.
This is more than a comeback —it’s the continuation of a legacy.
"Happy Endings" release info
tAIT are ready to release their latest single "HAPPY ENDINGS".
It's a fresh Modern/Pop/Rock banger, written and composed by Chris Tait, and performed with all the newest members of the band. Introducing Robbie Webb on drums, Mike Dorea on bass and Matthew Mitchell on lead guitar.
During these controversial times for the music industry, with fully ai generated music and performances taking the place of hard working musicians worldwide, tAIT are looking forward to bringing their mix of catchy songwriting and high energy live shows to venues around SA.
They started 2026 rehearsing and getting ready to take the band on the road, all whilst perfecting their live performances at a handful of Cape Town's premiere live music venues.
The reviews are in and the band "IS COOKING!!"
"Happy Endings" is a bittersweet reflection on the aftermath of broken relationships. The song is about the pain of loss, regret, and the struggle to move forward. It's hard to believe in "happy endings," when you are caught between longing for the past and knowing it's time to let go. Overall, it's an emotionally charged modern pop rock song about heartbreak, resilience, and the road to finding your true happiness.
Look out for HAPPY ENDINGS on all your favourite streaming platforms, as tAIT once again attempts to take over the airwaves!
