Nostalia Pride Picnic

Sat Oct 31, 11:00 - Sat Oct 31, 18:00

Women's Jail, Constitution Hill Human Rights Precinct

ABOUT

The Nostalgia Pride Picnic is a community-led advocacy initiative that is defined by inclusion, accessibility, and collective joy. Conceived as a return to the grassroots Pride gatherings of the 1990s, which began with a march and culminated in a communal picnic at Zoo Lake, the event offers an experience that decentralises commercialisation and protects its ownership by the community.

Gather with us on the lawns at the Women's Jail at Constitution Hill.

11am - 6pm

Bring your picnic baskets, camp chairs, garden umbrellas, besties and let's spend the day in community.

PLEASE NOTE:

Glass Policy

To keep everyone safe and comfortable, no glass items are allowed at this event. This includes glass bottles, glasses, jars and any other glassware.

What you can bring:

  • Plastic bottles and containers
  • Cans

At the entrance:

  • Bags may be checked on arrival.
  • Any glass items found will not be allowed in. You’ll be asked to leave them at the entrance or pour the contents into a plastic container, if one is available.
  • House of Ditsie, As Founded or Constitution Hill cannot be held responsible for items left at the entrance.

Why we have this policy:

Broken glass is a safety hazard for guests and for our venue, especially where people are sitting on the ground, dancing or walking barefoot.

Thank you for helping us keep the space safe for everyone. If you have any questions, please speak to a member of our team on the day.

There will also be stalls/ vendors selling goods on the day.
