ABOUT
What does it take to challenge the status quo - and actually change it?
In 2012, Wayne Duvenage left a three-decade corporate career to co-found OUTA, initially taking on Government’s controversial eToll decision in Gauteng. What began as a single campaign grew into one of South Africa’s most formidable civil action organisations.
Today, OUTA has tackled more than 360 projects addressing corruption, maladministration and irrational government policy, with its work helping to protect billions of rands from corrupt networks.
At this Business Breakfast, Wayne will take us behind the scenes of OUTA’s work - exploring its methodology, some of its highest-impact projects and what more than a decade of active citizenry has taught him about influencing meaningful change.
Against the backdrop of South Africa’s evolving political landscape, he’ll also explore why engaged citizens matter now more than ever - and why giving up hope is not an option.
