This Year’s Theme: "Body Beats

Every stride supports a student. Join us on the trails for our 4th annual event and help raise vital funds for the Silvermine Academy Bursary Fund!

The Silvermine Academy Fun Run is back! This year’s theme, "Body Beats," celebrates movement, health and community spirit on the trails.

100% of event proceeds go directly into our Bursary Fund, opening doors for deserving students to receive a high-quality education.

• Start Time: 7:00 AM
• Expected Finish: 10:00 AM
• Post-Run Market and Music at School: 9:30AM - 11:00AM

Route Details:

This year we have included not only a 5km but also a 10km run. The route details is as follows:

The 5 km route will take participants through the Sun Valley Wetlands, starting and ending at Silvermine Academy. Our students and teachers will marshall the route with the Fish Hoek Athletics club to ensure that the participants are having a great time. Please expect participants and marshalls to be on the following roads during the event:

• Registration will take place at the Main entrance of Silvermine Academy on Brigantine Road (Silvermine Academy Parking area)
• Runners will start from the parking lot opposite Sun Valley Primary School
• Run into Sun Valley Dunes and Wetlands Trail
• Down Poplar Road along the green belt
• Across municipality area towards Silverglades Sports Field and return via Brigantine Road to end at Silvermine Academy

Route Details:

The 10km route will take participants through the Sun Valley Wetlands, starting and ending at Silvermine Academy. Our students and teachers will marshall the route with the Fish Hoek Athletics club to ensure that the participants are having a great time. Please expect participants and marshalls to be on the following roads during the event:

10km Route description…..

• Registration will take place at the Main entrance of Silvermine Academy on Brigantine Road (Silvermine Academy Parking area)
• Runners will start from the parking lot opposite Sun Valley Primary School
• Run into Sun Valley Dunes and Wetlands Trail
• Onto poplar road towards Fish Hoek Clovelly Wetlands
• Around wooden bridge while staying on path to wetlands
• At Pebble Bridge/Pathway cross towards Winkle Way/Carlton Road
• Follow path back to Poplar along the greenbelt
• Return onto Sportsfield (passing Baseball club) passing Fish Hoek Athletics Club
• Passing Gracefields Church on Nelson Road, onto Bike Ramp and
• Return via Brigantine Road to end at Silvermine Academy

??Environmental Information

We are aware that the route goes through a sensitive area and we will ensure that all participants respect that. There will be water points along the route with adequate bins and water dispensers.

The SMA Fun Run is all about bringing our community together and raising funds to improve our educational bursaries. We’d love for you to come and join in the festivities or cheer on the runners!
