ABOUT:
Innisfree is the tell tale of Dave Gardner.
Weaving together poetry, Pastoral Folk and lush melodies that open up spaces for the audience to get lost and found in.
Dave’s original compositions are difficult to place within one specific genre, but universal themes of belonging provide an opening for sincere contemplation.
The gentle guitar rhythms roll the body along, offering a unique opportunity to drop into the vast soundscapes of the South African landscapes that Dave pays homage to in his songs.
Clare Vandeleur is a Johannesburg-based cellist and composer blending classical roots with ambient, exploratory playing. Clare has toured South Africa with Julian Redpath for the launch of his album 'Maiden Light', recorded on Nibs van der Spuy’s latest album 'Maiden of the River', contributed to Caroline Leisegang’s 'Comes the Night', and most recently recorded for Dave Gardner’s (Innisfree) recent release, 'Wherever You Go, You See Them'.
Keegan Steenkamp is one of Cape Town's finest trumpet players and has played with many local artists including Asher Gamedze, Gabriel Espi, Dylan Fine, iBhunga, Thabo Krouwkam and many more. Keegan arranged exqusite trumpet & Trombone parts on Innisfree's last single 'Kalander'.
