2nd UNISA African Music Festival 2026 – Gala Evening
The UNISA Music Foundation proudly presents the Gala Evening of the 2nd UNISA African Music Festival, the grand finale celebrating African musical excellence through an extraordinary showcase of internationally acclaimed artists and exceptional homegrown talent.
Headlining the evening is the award-winning South African band Freshlyground, renowned for their distinctive Afro-fusion sound that blends African rhythms, folk, jazz, and contemporary influences.
Also featuring the following outstanding performances:
Uhadi Bow and Xhosa Traditional Music: Nomapostile Nyiki Band
Mbira Music Showcase: Othnell "Mangoma" Moyo and Mudavanhu Magaya
Drumming: West Africa Meets South Africa
Marimba and African Percussion: RUmband
