ABOUT
Piano Trio Concert – Sue Paterson, Johanna Roos & Jessica Bailey
The Helderberg Village Music Society presents an afternoon of outstanding chamber music featuring
pianist Sue Paterson, violinist Johanna Roos and cellist Jessica Bailey.
Their programme combines three contrasting musical worlds:
• Haydn – Piano Trio in G major ("Gypsy Rondo")
A joyful and brilliant masterpiece culminating in an energetic Hungarian-inspired finale.
• Brahms – Piano Trio in C minor, Op. 101
A powerful and intensely expressive work showcasing the rich sonorities of the piano trio.
• Shostakovich – Five Pieces
A delightful collection of miniatures including a Waltz, Gavotte, Elegy and Polka, full of charm and character.
The performers are highly respected musicians with distinguished careers in performance and teaching. Together they bring warmth, artistry and exceptional ensemble playing to this varied and engaging programme.
