Community Check in: Xenophobia and Afrophobia

Dear Community

With yet another wave of Xenophobic and Afrophobic violence in South Africa amongst the continued horrors of the world, genocide, wars.

We offer a community space to check in - how are you feeling and navigating in these times.

This is a space for openness, to share the real consequences of oppressive systems and forces without judgment and also not whitewashing or bypassing.

We will hold space to express and feel where we are. We are each responsible for our wellbeing and care.

This will be a small gathering to ensure intimacy and space to be heard. We are sharing this with people connected to us for now, feel free to share with a connection who you feel may benefit.

Location: 36 buitenkant street

Day: Wednesday 12 August 2026

Time: Arrival 6pm for 6.30-8.30pm

Cost: Donation based to cover the cost of the venue

Zayaan Buffkins is an Integral Coach and Facilitator supporting people through transformative processes.

Kafui Awonoor is a Family Constellations Facilitator, Somatic Healer, and space holder supporting journeys to wholeness.
