ABOUT
It's time for the annual Wildflower Walks!
This year, the Wildflower Stepping Stones Project is taking our Wildflower Walks to another level.
In the past, we've only walked in Kenridge and in Van Riebeeckshof - but this year, we're adding a BRAND NEW Protea Valley walk. What's more, the Protea Valley walk will include a special focus on the animals we share our urban habitat with, while the Van Riebeeckshof walk has added special focus on birdlife.
It's going to be a fabulous spring for conservation!
The Kenridge walks
We're doing three walks in Kenridge:
Sun 6 Sep: the Kenridge annual Long Walk. It's 5km, takes about 3 hours, and takes you through 11 Stepping Stones (conservation areas) in our parks.
Fri 11 Sep: a special annual walk for the seniors. This walk is FREE. It takes seniors through two parks, which include two gardens and three to four Stepping Stones. We walk at a calm pace and keep numbers low to ensure everyone enjoys the walk. To reserve a spot, simply send a message to Dalena Theron at 082 4550586.
Sun 13 Sep: a special Kids Walk! With fun, educational activities along the way. This is a shorter walk covering two parks and involves some fun games. Parents and guardians are welcome to accompany their children on this walk free of charge. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. This walk is most suitable for children between the ages of 7 and 12, but all ages are welcome.
Parking
All walks start at the Kenridge Park opposite the Vineyard Deli. Parking is available at the shopping centre, at the top of the park and at Kenridge Primary next to the park.
