Alberton Methodist Church - Youth Hall

ABOUT

"An Industrial Theatre Masterpiece"

Since it's inception in April 2017, the Alberton Methodist Drama Ministry has wowed the local comunity with their rather left wing production tactics.

In June 2017 they took to the stage in a improv performance that boasted all ages of players from 6 years of age to people over 40. In celebration of the June 16th youth day, they left both adults and children in fits of laughter.

In December the same year the younger members of the ministry stepped up to the plate with their own African styled version of Whoops A Daisy Angel; just in time for Christmas.

Well 2018 promises to be a dramatic year for the ministry, with four productions planned for the year.

The first of the four productions will be staged in the Youth Hall at Alberton Methodist Church on 24th March 2018. It is The Easter Monologues and takes a industrial theatric view of the emotions people would go through during the crusifiction and resurection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The show promises hard hitting raw emotion coupled with some brilliant music and a team who just wants to produce top quality Christian theatre.

The performers have swapped spaces for this one and the younger performers (easter
bunnies) will be producing the show, while older performers will be performing a series of heart felt monologues.

The Easter Monologues will take place on the 24th March 2018 at 18H00 in the Youth Hall and ticket sales are donation driven. Please read our donation details page. The donations all go to continued successful productions of the Drama Ministry or "Drama Lamas" as they are affectionately known.

HOW TICKET PRICES WORK & WHY.

The Drama Ministry at Alberton Methodist is a ministry and as such it is our desire to be a free source of entertainment.

However we have costs; some of these costs include..
  • Professional tutors and educators for our workshops.
  • Staging and Costume
  • Advertising & Marketing the events.
  • Some international productions incure license fees.
At this stage the costs are absorbed by the leaders of the Drama Ministry.

However this limits the ministry with regards to reach and the outsourced education.

For this reason we do the following to raise money for the ministry.
  • We sell our front 30 seats in the house for R50.00 a ticket.
  • We have created a donation system where you can donate to the ministry when booking your seat.
  • At our events we sell coldrinks, boerewors rolls and popcorn for profit.
  • We sell trinkets, programs and memoirs of our productions.
We trust you see the reasons for these fundraising efforts and would be willing to assist.

However you will see that we continue to offer our free ministry tickets and continue to encourage free use of our productions, for those who assist and support in other ways or can not afford to to financially support at this time.

Thank You for supporting our initiative.
