Join us for the 15th annual A Blooming Affair, our distinctive Garden & Craft Market Day whose purpose is to raise meaningful, sustainable funds for the Roedean Academy whilst celebrating the school's gardens, heritage and community.
Held in the grounds of Roedean School, the event transforms the school into a delightful market filled with a variety of attractions to tickle your fancy including; artisanal crafts, bespoke quality goods, delicious eats, a complimentary garden tour, live entertainment and garden inspiration unique to these vibrant award-winning grounds.

PARKING
Uber/e-Hailing drop-off area at the gate on Princess of Wales Terrace.
Free parking at Central Johannesburg College, adjacent to Roedean School (SA).
Free street parking on Princess of Wales Terrace.
Security will be provided.
Golf Cart shuttle service will be available along Princess of Wales Terrace.
Limited pre-booked On-Campus Parking Packages at the Roedean Junior School are available for purchase.
Entrance off Carse O'Gowrie Street.
Parking Packages are not transferrable and must be purchased in advance.
No parking tickets will be sold at the gate.
A limited number of wheelchair access parking bays are accessible via the Main Gate on Princess of Wales Terrace.
Please present your admission tickets together with your Wheelchair Parking Permit at the gate.
GARDENS OF THE GOLDEN CITY
A Blooming Affair is part of Gardens of the Golden City, a wonderful initiative that invites the public to get behind our walls and fences to explore Jozi’s best kept gardening secrets while raising funds for various charities.
Roedean School has a truly magnificent garden of botanical interest, which ‘intertwines’ with the school’s 120+ year history. The Herbert Baker buildings are complemented by beds filled with a great variety of plants, large and small, indigenous and exotic, with roses abounding.
For over 35 years, the late Anne Lorentz created a magnificent garden of botanical interest at Roedean. Fiorina and Selwyn Jansen were entrusted with the care and development of the Roedean’s gardens for 12 years until 2021, during which time they built on Anne’s legacy. Martine de la Harpe was the landscaper overseeing the care of the Roedean gardens until September 2023. The gardens are currently in the care of landscaper Heather Mansour who is also the owner of Styleview Gardens.
