Summer Rugby Festival Powered by Recklessbear

Senior Players from 19 years up can apply for Trails to be selected to become part of the Recklessbear Barbarians Squad traveling and playing against Namibia’s

International Team.

Trails will be held at Alberton Rugby Stadium.

Talented players will play over four weeks trails on Saturdays. A Panel of independent

selectors will players to play in 4 rounds. After these four rounds a Squad of 30 Players will be selected. This squad will then have to attend 2 training session a week over a 6 week period. Professional and experienced coaches will prepare the squad for a tour to Namibia to play as the Recklessbear Barbarian team against Namibia’s International team. This will form part as Namibia’s road map to qualify for World Cup Rugby.

Generating Opportunities is part of our Game

Potential should not disappear simply because one opportunity was missed.

Many talented players does not get the opportunity to play provincial games and further more never gets the opportunity to play an International team in their

careers. Being selected as Recklessbear Barbarians can give players this opportunity

and experience and to have an International game on our resume. Players will have access to coaching and skills that will be shared by players who has

international experience.

The Recklessbear Barbarians will receive the full international experience. Each Squad member will receive a full personalized KIT and APPAREL free of Charge.

All Meals and accommodation will be paid for in full. Each player will only have to cover his Traveling Costs of R7’500,00 per player. Each of the Squad members will have to be in passion of a valid passport. There is still enough time to apply for a passport.

Our Mission

To identify talented rugby players who may not have had access to play for or against a local union or a big South African franchise and presenting players the opportunity play against an International Team. This could open the pathway and create possible other opportunities for Players and expose them to coaching,

structured training, by professional rugby players.

We aim to help players grow experience in becoming better athletes and present players with opportunities and cultivating rugby as one of the greatest sports games in the world.
