Celebrating Women Who Protect Life: Featuring the Cape Town Premiere of Stunning Pigs

Omni Wellness Media presents a full-day Women’s Day public education and celebration event at The Masque Theatre in Muizenberg.

The programme brings together documentary film, South African food-system education, animal protection, live music, women’s recognition, vegan entrepreneurship and conscious community.

Guests may attend one individual session or reserve seats for the full day.

10:00 to 12:00

A screening and public conversation exploring animal agriculture, South African food systems and the people creating more compassionate and sustainable ways of nourishing communities.

The session will include reflections and discussion with invited guests connected to food growing, community resilience, women-led agriculture and plant-based change.

Stunning Pigs: Cape Town Premiere

12:00 to 13:30

The Cape Town Premiere of Stunning Pigs, presented in association with Beauty Without Cruelty South Africa and G.A.R.D.

The documentary investigates pig gas stunning and the realities hidden within industrial animal agriculture.

The screening will be followed by short reflections, discussion and practical ways for audience members to support animal-protection work, become involved in advocacy and help expand public awareness.

Voices for Women Showcase and Awards Ceremony

14:00 to 16:30

A celebratory Women’s Day programme featuring live singers, speakers, certificates, awards and special recognition for women and organisations protecting animals, people, communities and the planet.

The session will celebrate women’s leadership, animal advocacy, vegan entrepreneurship, community service and positive social change.

Selected singers will perform inspirational songs that celebrate women, dignity, courage, healing, hope and empowerment.

The programme will also include formal recognition of women-led organisations, community leaders, campaigners and businesses contributing meaningfully to a more compassionate society.

VEGAN FOOD

Vegan Streetfood will be promoted as the event’s Official Vegan Food Partner.

Vegan food will be available for purchase throughout the day, subject to the final food-truck permissions and operational arrangements being completed.

Vegan Streetfood will also be formally recognised during the Voices for Women Showcase and Awards Ceremony.

The discount reduces each R150 session ticket to R100, bringing the total full-day cost to R300. A separate ticket must be reserved for each session.

Recommended for audiences aged 13 and older.

Some documentary content addresses animal suffering, industrial farming, animal agriculture and ethical issues that younger viewers may find distressing.

Guests under the age of 18 should attend with a parent, guardian or responsible adult.

THINGS TO KNOW:

* Please arrive on time - no entry is allowed after the show starts. Latecomers will be admitted at interval only.

* Children must have their own seat - no sitting on laps.

* No outside food or drinks are allowed. Refreshments are available for purchase inside.

* You're welcome to take food and drinks into the theatre, but please return your glasses to the bar afterward.

* No flash photography or videography is permitted during the performance.

* Free secure parking is available just 50 meters past the theatre (next to the Woodshop). The lot closes 30 minutes after the show ends. Please avoid parking in residential roads to keep access clear for local residents.
