For our 5th Annual Nia CANSA Women’s Day Fundraiser, we explore RESONANCE: the powerful way music and movement ripple through the body, brain, emotions and human connection.

What happens when a rhythm moves us before we even think?

Why can one song unlock memory, emotion or joy?

How do music and movement influence the brain, nervous system and wellbeing?

And what becomes possible when we move together?

This year, we are taking the experience to the next level.

WHAT TO EXPECT

What is different this year?

Taking it to the next level...Movement, music and magic. Inspiring, miraculous stories that will inspire you. Movement that will make you crave more, sound healing journey that will resonate deeply, amazing gifts and prizes: and you get to play and dress up with the theme "magic" and share yours all in the name of a good cause.

* Inspiring guest speakers and conversations exploring the neuroscience and benefits of music and movement — how rhythm, sound and movement influence the brain, nervous system, emotions, wellbeing and human connection.

*Somatic experiences with Mia Steyn, Somatic Educator and International Nia Trainer, inviting you to sense how music and movement can shift your state, awaken sensation and bring you more fully into the present moment.

*Meaningful stories and shared moments that remind us of the power of community, courage and connection.

* A joyful Nia movement experience guided by Mia Steyn and guest Nia teachers — where music, movement and magic meet. Dance, play, express, connect and allow yourself to be moved.

No previous dance or Nia experience necessary.

* A deeply restorative sound journey to unwind, soften and rest. After moving and awakening the body, you’ll be invited to lie back, let go and move into full-on receive mode — allowing sound, vibration and stillness to wash over you.

*Canapés and welcome drinks, generously sponsored by the Rupert Museum.

*Magical photo moments, surprises and gifts throughout the morning.

* Dress-up fun, with a special prize for best dressed, spot prizes and lucky draws.

* Upmarket goodie bags filled with beautiful contributions from generous businesses and sponsors.
