The Odeion School of Music (OSM) proudly celebrates its 80th anniversary with a distinguished Gala Concert marking eight decades of artistic excellence, innovation, and music education. Since its establishment in 1946, the OSM has played a significant role in shaping South Africa's musical landscape, and this special occasion honours its rich legacy and enduring contribution.

This flagship celebration will showcase a programme of South African compositions performed by distinguished artists, including the Odeion String Quartet. The evening will also feature a special conversation with Professor Jeanne Zaidel-Rudolph on the occasion of the launch of her new book. In addition, the recipient of the 2026 Helgaardt Steyn Composition Prize will be announced during the concert.
