Steel, Cloth and the Work of Repair: Edoardo Villa and Tshepo Sizwe Phokojoe

Presented as part of HEAT 2026, Ctrl + Z, this public conversation brings artist Tshepo Sizwe Phokojoe into dialogue with Nkgopoleng Moloi and Andrew Lamprecht around Peffers Fine Art’s exhibition Hedonic Adaptation: Structures of Survival and Repair. Taking Edoardo Villa’s sculptural legacy as a historical counterpoint, the discussion considers inherited structures, material repair, slow looking, and the possibilities of re-reading South African modernism through contemporary practices of shelter, stitching, vulnerability and care.
