Anything But A Boat - Dabs Fundraiser

Get ready for a day of questionable engineering, aquatic chaos and a proper jol at Dabulamanzi Canoe Club on AUGUST 8 2026 - 2pm til late

The challenge is simple: cross the canoe polo pitch in anything but a boat. Cooler box? Lilo? Air mattress? Homemade raft held together by cable ties and blind optimism? If it floats — or you think it might — you're in.

The event is open to everyone, so assemble your crew, build your aquatic masterpiece and bring your own unconventional vessel. Prefer to watch the chaos unfold from dry land? Spectators are just as welcome.

Entry is R100 per person for participants and spectators, which includes full access to the jol. Expect music, braais, good gees and plenty of action on the water — with prizes up for grabs for the day's standout competitors, and separate races for TEAM and INDIVIDUAL competitors.

All profits will be donated to the Dabulamanzi Canoe Club' and Soweto Canoe and Recreation Club
