Back to Basics part 2 - Plan it, Teach it, Love it

Sunday mornings can be overwhelming! How to start the morning, what to do when, how to fit everything in, when to change things up, and that’s all before you’ve got to the actual lesson! This workshop will cover three different sessions.

Session 1: What a Sunday morning should look like:

- Which activities are part of the routine every week, and which activities are part of that week’s lesson.

- Examples of routines, what they look like, and why you should do it that way

- How to build your values into your routines

- What are the elements that should be in a lesson plan structure

Session 2: How to prepare a lesson for children’s church:

Whether you have chosen a topic and plan to write the lesson yourself, or whether you have found a lesson plan and need to adapt it for your group, we will discuss what, where and why to include different activities as part of the lesson. Participants will work together to plan a lesson.

Session 3: How to tell a Bible story so that children will listen:

This will be a valuable session for those who may not be that experienced in children’s ministry, or just feel like they need to develop new skills in their tool belt. This practical session will cover different creative ways to tell a Bible story and how to connect the story with the presence of God.

We will start our time together with an encouraging word for you and your team, followed by a time of ministry. Everyone will stay together for the first session. Participants can choose whether to attend session 2 or session 3, which will run concurrently.

As always, there will be the opportunity to be prayed for and ministered to and to meet and learn from others who think children’s ministry is the best ministry there is!

Cost: R200 per ticket
