ABOUT
Marked by Earth: A Graffiti-Inspired Ceramic Painting Workshop Join us for a creative and expressive ceramic painting experience where art meets clay.
Participants will have the opportunity to paint and customize pre-made ceramic bisqueware created by ceramic artist Joy Mwali, transforming everyday ceramic forms into unique works of art. Drawing inspiration from graffiti, street art, bold mark-making, and personal expression, participants are encouraged to bring their own designs, sketches, or visual references. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced creative, this workshop offers a welcoming space to experiment and explore your artistic voice.
Guest facilitator Warona Wucks will guide participants in developing and refining their designs through graffiti-inspired mark-making and creative expression. Joy Mwali will assist with ceramic painting techniques, transferring designs onto bisqueware, and navigating the creative process from concept to finished piece. Come prepared to create, experiment, and enjoy a day of artistic exploration. Feel free to bring a snack, refreshment, or anything that helps you feel comfortable while you paint. Leave your mark on clay and create a piece that reflects your creativity and personal style. Please note: Ceramic pieces will remain with the facilitators after the workshop for glazing and kiln firing. Finished works will be available for collection at a later date, and participants will be notified once their pieces are ready.
No prior experience required, just bring your imagination.
