ABOUT
Beyond Blame: Relationship Repair in Practice
with international thought leader James 'Fish' Gill
Wednesday 25 November 2026, 5-8pm (Arrival 4:30pm)
Venue: Workshop17 Dock Rd, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town, South Africa
A heart coach, transformational facilitator, author of How To Fall In Love With Humanity, and one of the world's leading relationship repair coaches, James 'Fish' Gill's work is grounded in a simple truth: when people learn how to witness and validate each other’s humanity, even the hardest conversations become places of openheartedness, willingness and accountability.
In this highly engaging 3 hour workshop Australia based 'Fish' Gill, will guide us in seeing every moment of conflict as a profound invitation for deeper understanding, stronger trust, greater honesty, truer connection and greater fulfilment. He illustrates that conflict itself isn’t the problem; the absence of skill is, that without the capacity to navigate our interpersonal tensions masterfully, our resentments naturally linger, our frustrations go underground and our capacity to trust, collaborate and thrive in teams is naturally eroded.
Under Fish's guidance, conflict isn’t something to avoid, it is something to walk towards: a powerful doorway to deeper connection in the relationships we cherish most.
WHO THIS IS FOR:
If you find yourself getting stuck in arguing, hurts and frustrations with a partner, kids, family or colleagues, and no matter what you do you can’t find your way through, then this 3-day masterclass is for you. This is also for you if you are a leader, facilitator, coach or mentor as it will expand your skillset tremendously.
A SAFE SPACE FOR LIMITED PARTICIPANTS
The masterclass will be an 18-hour program (across three days) of teaching and direct instruction, personal reflection, pair work and group work. Space is limited to 30 participants. Both singles (partnered or un-partnered) and couples are welcome. Given our different comfort levels with sharing the most tender aspects of our relational hurts, participants are supported to engage with the teaching processes only to the extent to which each feels comfortable in any moment.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
You'll be introduced to the foundations of relationship repair and the Four Truths framework, a simple yet powerful way of understanding why conflict naturally arises, what to do when it strikes, and how it can become a revolutionary opportunity for deeper connection.
Together, we'll explore how to:
- UNDERSTAND why conflict is a natural part of every close relationship and why it doesn't have to mean something is wrong.
- DISCOVER the Four Truths framework, a radically different way of making sense of conflict that moves beyond blame and opens the door to repair.
- BEGIN TO RECOGNISE the unmet needs and human experiences that lie beneath criticism, defensiveness and disconnection.
- EXPLORE what meaningful relationship repair actually looks like and why it's the skill most of us were never taught.
- REFLECT on your own conflict patterns and identify practical shifts you can begin making in your everyday relationships.
- LEAVE with a new perspective on conflict, a shared language for repair, and simple practices you can begin using immediately.
