Woodcarving Workshop with Leonardo Sitoe, Moderated by Muyon Mafulu

This hands-on workshop introduces participants to the conceptual and material foundations of Leonardo Sitoe's artistic practice. Through a guided exploration of carving and material transformation using Supawood/MDF board, participants will learn how wood shavings are generated and incorporated into the artist's work.

The session will begin with a short artist talk, followed by a demonstration of carving techniques and safety procedures. Participants will then experiment with creating their own wood shavings and temporary compositions, exploring ideas of repetition, accumulation, texture, and transformation.

The workshop focuses on process, experimentation, and creative thinking, offering insight into contemporary sculptural practices and material-based artmaking.
