SHAKESPEARE'S MACBETH

mixed thumbnail
Shakespeare's Macbeth

Directed by award-winning Lesedi Job, this Macbeth unfolds in a world that feels both familiar and fractured - shaped by conflict, instability, and urgent questions about leadership and moral collapse.

The story follows Macbeth, a celebrated general who encounters three otherworldly figures prophesying that he will become king. What begins as prophecy awakens a darker impulse within him, and with encouragement from Lady Macbeth, ambition turns into action, setting off a violent rise to power.

As Macbeth and Lady Macbeth ascend, the crown becomes heavier than it is worth. Paranoia grows, loyalty erodes, and violence becomes the language of survival, leaving them increasingly isolated as the world they have built slips beyond their grasp.

Set in a world of its own, this is a raw, human story about ambition and what unravels when power, conscience, and spirit fall out of alignment.
