A magna cum laude graduate of The Juilliard School, Siya Charles has established herself as one of the most compelling voices in contemporary jazz. Based in New York and mentored by jazz luminaries including Ingrid Jensen and Steve Davis, she has performed on prestigious international stages alongside legendary artists, including the late Hugh Masekela, and collaborated with multiple Grammy Award-winning musicians.
Bringing together a stellar ensemble of some of Cape Town's finest jazz musicians, the Siya Charles Sextet promises an evening of sophisticated artistry, powerful improvisation, and deeply expressive music that bridges South African musical heritage with the innovation of modern jazz.
