Digital Tools for Indie Authors

Writing the book is only part of the job. Indie authors must also manage editing, formatting, publishing, discoverability, marketing and their online presence.

Alistair Sim introduces useful digital tools for each stage of the author journey. The session covers manuscript and formatting platforms, Amazon keyword research, advertising through Amazon, Google and Facebook, author website tools, email platforms for newsletters and reader communication, and tools for responding to enquiries.

Alistair is an indie author and the founder of wordsNthings, a South African technology company that develops practical AI tools and helps businesses and authors manage their digital presence. Drawing on both sides of that experience, he focuses on tools that can help authors work more efficiently, reach and build a sustainability author business.

Rather than a technical workshop, this session explains what the tools do, where they fit and which options may be worth exploring.
