Guitar virtuosos - Dan Patlansky and Guy Buttery are bringing their electrifying acoustic duo to Blue Mountain, Hoedspruit for the very first time!

Two of South Africa’s most celebrated guitarists come together for a one off concert in Blue Mountain, Hoedspruit forming part of their collaborative national tour. This landmark live performance brings together the dynamic blues-rock energy of Dan Patlansky and the intricate, genre-defying stylings of Guy Buttery. Between them, they’ve toured the globe, released award-winning albums, and left audiences spellbound from Mooi River to New York.

Dan and Guy met as ‘two young guitar nerds’ at a music festival in their 20's. Touring together for the first time in fourteen years, the duo have been quietly workshopping tunes, collaborating on new material neither expected to play together, and preparing something truly special for this run.

Patlansky, known for his electrifying playing and soulful vocals, has 11 studio albums under his belt and has twice been ranked as having the #1 Blues Rock Album in the world by Blues Rock Review USA. His latest release, Movin’ On (2024), was named #3 Blues Rock Album of the Year. Buttery, the acoustic alchemist and multi-instrumentalist often referred to as a national treasure, has performed in over 10 countries, earned multiple South African Music Awards, and collaborated with legends like Dave Matthews, Salif Keita, and Vusi Mahlasela. He’s as comfortable on the international stage as he is under the trees in the KZN Midlands.
