Golden Oldies at Christ Church Constantia

Terry Fortune hosts his 83rd Golden Oldies show, after appearances at Kirstenbosch, the Baxter and Artscape Theatres and jazz festivals. The series seeks platforms for performing artists who, no longer young, have a wealth of experience and maturity to still bring to the stage.

On the lineup are Leslie Kleinsmith (in addition to an array of albums and recordings, Leslie was the singer of the Tony Schilder hits "Montreal" and "Give Me Loving"), Madeegha Anders of the musical District Six, rising star Candice Thornton and legendary trumpeter Ian Smith. Terry, Leslie and Madeegha were stars of David Kramer and Taliep Petersen's 1987 hit musical "District Six".

Ian Smith is a legendary veteran trumpeter, vocalist and jazz band leader (Virtual Jazz Reality and the Delft Big Band) with an enduring legacy of fine work in the city.

Rising star Candice Thornton is known for her smooth, velvety, warm and sultry voice and has written songs of her own.
