ABOUT

'Notes to Self' is a creative invitation to pause and remember what matters.

Together, we'll create a pocket-sized zine manifesto filled with personal truths, values and reminders, something for you to return to on the difficult days, the hopeful days and everything in between.

Through collage, reflection and making, we'll explore creativity as a practice of self-care, connection and remembering.

Why A Zine-Making Workshop?

This workshop is a hands-on zine-making workshop rooted in DIY culture, creative freedom, and personal expression.

Zines have long been used as tools for self-publishing, storytelling, resistance, and sharing ideas outside mainstream spaces.

It is a space to explore voice, perspective, creativity and creative agency through collage, text, and intuitive making.

No perfection. No rules. No previous experience required. Just paper, process, and the freedom to make something that feels true to YOU.

  • arrivals from 8:30am @ Studio 12 at Montebello Design Centre
  • starting promptly at 9am and closing at 12pm

Why this workshop matters:

It offers a space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with the values, truths and reminders that help guide us through everyday life.

Through creativity, conversation and collective making, we will create pocket-sized manifestos that participants can return to on difficult days, hopeful days, and everything in between.

By joining this workshop, you're not only investing in your own creative wellbeing, but also supporting Julia Joy's participation in an international creative fellowship in Norway in September 2026.
