Applications for International Students open 13th December 2017.Applications for South African Students open 1st February 2018.
The teams will have to propose a practical solution to a problem, specifically faced by South African communities.
Students from top tertiary institutions will have to write a report and film their pitch. The top 7 teams will be invited to the Grand Final and will showcase their skills in front of the panel composed of professors, local municipalities and business leaders.
The average cost of attending a case competition for a team of five is €50 (R800), however we allow participants to donate as much as they can or want to. The minimum donation to receive a ticket is €1 (R16)
One representative from each team must make a donation in order to receive the case.
Application Process:
1. Get into teams of 2-5 people
2. Make a donation to enter
3. Receive the Case Brief formulated by the UCT Graduate School of Business Case Writing Centre
*International students are eligible to receive the case topic from 13/12/17 whereas local students are eligible to receive it from 01/02/18
4. Formulate a case solution in the form of a video (maximum 10 minutes) as well as a word document explanation
5. Send through your case solution as well as CVs/transcripts of your team members to [email protected]
*Registrations for international students close on 22/01/18 and case solutions must be submitted by 25/01/2017 (9am GMT)
*Registrations for local students close on 27/02/18 and case solutions must be submitted by 02/03/2017 (9am GMT)
6. Find out if you made it to the final round
7. Attend the final from 22/03/18 - 25/03/18 in Cape Town, South Africa
