US Koor: 90 jaar

As Stellenbosch University Choir celebrates its 90th anniversary, audiences at Klein Karoo Klassique are invited to experience a programme of exceptional choral artistry under the direction of conductor André van der Merwe. From the luminous beauty of “Sicut Anima Mea”, “Water Night”, and “Laat die Wind my Neem”, to the vibrant African spirit of “Ndikuthandile” and “Oxamu”, this world-renowned choir showcases its remarkable versatility. Ranked among the world’s leading amateur choirs, they promise an unforgettable celebration of excellence, emotion, and musical brilliance. At the 2025 European Choir Games and Grand Prix of Nations in Aarhus, Denmark, the Stellenbosch University Choir achieved Top Level Distinction in three categories, earning three Gold Medals in the Adult Choirs, Musica Sacra a cappella, and “Jazz, Pop and Show” divisions.

Die Universiteitskoor Stellenbosch bring hul 90ste bestaansjaar-vieringe na Klein Karoo Klassique en gehore word uitgenooi om ’n program van uitsonderlike koorkuns onder leiding van dirigent André van der Merwe te beleef. Van die betowerende skoonheid van “Sicut Anima Mea”, “Water Night” en “Laat die Wind my Neem”, tot die kleurryke Afrika-gees van “Ndikuthandile” en “Oxamu”, toon hierdie alombekende koor sy merkwaardige veelsydigheid. As een van die wêreld se voorste amateurkore beloof hulle ’n onvergeetlike viering van uitnemendheid, emosie en briljante koormusiek. By die 2025 Europese Koorspele en Grand Prix of Nations in Aarhus, Denemarke, het die Universiteitskoor Stellenbosch topvlak-onderskeiding in drie kategorieë ontvang en drie goue medaljes verower in die afdelings volwasse kore, Musica Sacra a cappella en “Jazz, Pop and Show.”
