ABOUT

Honestly, winter might just be the best time to be on a bike

The mornings can be a little crisp and the start a little icy, but once you’re moving, there’s something about riding through Johannesburg in winter. Clear skies, fresh air, and that feeling of accomplishment once you’ve warmed up make it all worth it.

As we settle into the colder months, we encourage you to layer up and join us. Trust us, the cold at the start is temporary, but the memories, laughter, and good energy last much longer.

We’re also happy to be back at one of our favourite homes, 44 Stanley with an adjustment to the time 09:00 for 09:30

A few gentle tips to help you enjoy the ride:

  • Come fuelled, cycling takes energy, so make sure you’ve had something to eat beforehand

  • Bring along small snacks or electrolytes to keep your energy up along the way

  • The weather can be unpredictable, so sunscreen and a hat are always a good idea

  • Wear whatever feels comfortable, this isn’t a spandex-only kind of ride

  • It’s beginner-friendly, but it does ask a little courage, come open to trying something new

A few things to note:

  • No walk-ins, bikes and helmets are prepared based on bookings

  • Knowing your height helps us get the right fit for you (you can pop into Cycle Boutique at 44 Stanley if you’re unsure)

  • Spots are limited and work on a first come, first served basis to keep things fair for everyone
