Topics presented at event: Brief overview of organization and their role in fintech, “Helping organizations through the fintech Age”
Juan Engelbrecht
Juan is a Manager in the South African Accenture Strategy practice. He specialises in the Communications, Media and Technology sector with a broad range of experience across growth and profitability projects. Most notably he was recently part of structuring a network asset divestiture, completing an enterprise cost transformation and developing subscriber churn reduction models for a leading Telco. Juan has a strong interest in industry convergence in the CMT environment, specifically around how Telco’s can leverage the emergence of sub-sectors like FinTech to supplement growth agendas.
Steven Perks
Steven is a Manager in the Financial Services Strategy practice of Accenture South Africa. He has a passion for partnering with clients to co-create practical solutions that have an impact on the lives of ordinary human beings. This can take the form of identifying new services to take to market and making them successful or transforming the culture and ways of working of an organisation to become more agile. Recently he has been involved in formulating the vision for an employee benefits platform, as well as designing and launching the first two services into the market.

Dr Brian Metcalfe
Dr Brian Metcalfe is currently presenting a course at USB on the future of financial services which examines how financial services are being re-defined by new concepts such as peer-to-peer lending, crowdfunding, alternative payment mechanisms, data analytics and technology formulated investing. Dr Metcalfe is affiliated with the Institute of Canadian Bankers through being invited to develop a Consumer Bank Marketing course for the Institutes’ Fellowship programme.
