Deur musiek takel hierdie jong stemme armoede en misdaad en vind eenheid, doelwitte en selfuitdrukking. Dit is meer as net ’n fliek oor musiek; dit bied ’n intieme blik op die lewe in Khayelitsha terwyl die koor daarna streef om die narratiewe te herskryf en ’n permanente oefenruimte vir hulle toekoms te verseker.

This documentary is set in Khayelitsha, one of South Africa’s largest and most dangerous townships, where a youth choir rises as a beacon of hope. Through music, these young voices confront poverty and crime, finding unity, purpose, and self-expression on the way. More than a film about music, this visual and aural experience allows the viewer an intimate look at life in Khayelitsha as the choir strives to rewrite narratives and secure a permanent rehearsal space.
