ABOUT

Resisting Erasure! – A Living Rights Festival Documentary Screening in Partnership with the District Six Museum

Resisting Erasure! is a documentary that captures the voices, performances, conversations, and reflections that shaped the 2025 Living Rights Festival. Through the lens of artists, activists, academics, and community members, the film explores themes of peace, justice, human rights, memory, and resistance in a world increasingly marked by conflict, war, genocide and inequality.

This special screening is presented by the Institute for African Alternatives (IFAA) and the University of the Western Cape (UWC) in partnership with the District Six Museum as part of the Museum's National Youth Day commemorative programme. The event invites audiences to reflect on the role of young people, culture, and collective action in confronting injustice and imagining more just and inclusive futures.
