South Africa was first introduced to CHOSI through her viral Idols SA audition, where she

performed her original hit single Ntinga alongside the indigenous uhadi instrument. Born in the

heart of KwaZakhele Township in Port Elizabeth, CHOSI creates music that feels like memory,

prayer, and protest all at once.

Rooted in the rhythms of the Zion church and raised in a home filled with song, her sound is a

soulful meeting point between jazz, nesingqi, and storytelling. What began as poetry shaped by the

socio-political realities around her evolved into music that carries both tenderness and truth.

From stages across South Africa to composing for international film productions, CHOSI’s artistry

flows like a river — deeply African, spiritually grounded, and impossible to ignore.

Now based in Johannesburg, CHOSI returns to the city where her musical journey first began with

SELAH — an intimate evening of reflection, stillness, and soul-stirring sound.
