ABOUT
Join us at The Homecoming Centre for a limited run of Alyssa Dionne and Matthew Veys' popular reboot of I Can't Speak for Freddy.
Directed by Morné Visser, the story features a chaotic yet captivating young playwright who reflects on her years in acting school, where she formed an intense bond with her closest friend, Freddy, a gifted but troubled actor burdened by a dark past and a reliance on drink to quiet it.
Their friendship is strained by a ruthless pursuit of validation under the watchful eye of their manipulative head of drama, Professor Porter, who exploits Freddy’s trauma under the guise of artistic excellence.
As ambition collides with vulnerability, the boundaries between friendship and love begin to blur. Trust fractures, truths surface, and the weight of unspoken words lingers.
In a world where performance and reality intertwine, will their love for one another survive?
