Music Society Concert

Helderberg Village Music Society invites you to enjoy an afternoon of exceptional classical guitar music with acclaimed South African guitarist James Grace on Sunday 21 June at 4pm in Talani Terrace.

Recognised internationally for his artistry and versatility, James Grace will perform a richly varied programme featuring a diverse selection of guitar masterpieces. Among the highlights are Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos’s set of Five Preludes. Additionally, Grace's will feature his unique arrangement of JS Bach’s monumental Chaconne, originally composed for solo violin.

To mark the 400^th anniversary of English Renaissance composer and lutenist John Dowland, Grace will include Dowland’s hauntingly beautiful Lachrimae Pavan.

The concert will also feature a guest appearance by Luca Duffett, a student of James Grace and a Grade 8 pupil at Rondebosch Boys’ High School.
