Battle of the Bands: High School Edition

Battle of the Bands is an annual upliftment initiative by Interlace Uplift in collaboration with the Masque theatre. The event looks at providing mentorship and a learning opportunity for young musicians who are still in high school.

We select three bands from local high schools to collaborate with a professional band that is actively performing in the city. Each pro band member is then paired up with one of the high school bands, who they must coach to perform on the event day.

Last year we had bands from Muizenberg, Fishoek and Westridge participate. At the end of the event, each band walked away with a once in a lifetime experience, feeling supported by their community and some really cool prizes like a pro photo shoot.

THINGS TO KNOW:

* Please arrive on time - no entry is allowed after the show starts. Latecomers will be admitted at interval only.

* Children must have their own seat - no sitting on laps.

* No outside food or drinks are allowed. Refreshments are available for purchase inside.

* You're welcome to take food and drinks into the theatre, but please return your glasses to the bar afterward.

* No flash photography or videography is permitted during the performance.

* Free secure parking is available just 50 meters past the theatre (next to the Woodshop). The lot closes 30 minutes after the show ends. Please avoid parking in residential roads to keep access clear for local residents.
