Zola Marcelle Presents ELEMENTS: Bass & Vocal featuring

TENDAII

Dalisu Ndlazi

bleee.t

Her bass & vocal performances at Jazz Café, EFG London Jazz Festival, Jazz Re Live and others — going from double to triple and quadruple bass alongside some of the UK’s finest players — have left audiences speechless. Her work within this field embraces these two beautiful elements — engaging with the myriad of possibilities within them as an offering.

Now she brings it to Untitled Basement this May, in a special, once-in-a-lifetime gathering of talent, joined by three distinctive bass voices from Southern Africa: Dalisu Ndlazi, TENDAII, and bleeee.t.

Dalisu Ndlazi is a Johannesburg-based jazz bassist known for his deep swing, precision, and expressive low-end voice. A former member of the Standard Bank National Schools Big Band and the Standard Bank National Youth Jazz Band (2015–2017), he has performed with leading South African artists including Nduduzo Makhathini and Simphiwe Dana, and appeared on major stages such as the Cape Town International Jazz Festival, Birdland Jazz Club in New York, and Jazz à la Villette in Paris.

TENDAII is an award-winning producer, composer, music director, and bassist from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, whose work moves fluidly between jazz, soul, Afro-contemporary, and experimental sound worlds. His career spans performances at global stages including NPR Tiny Desk, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, London Jazz Café, Cape Town International Jazz Festival, and Standard Bank Joy of Jazz — shaping a voice that is both deeply rooted and globally resonant.

bleeee.t is a South African bassist, producer, and multidisciplinary artist whose sound blends indie rock, jazz, funk, dream pop, Maskandi, and African rhythmic traditions into a bass-driven language of storytelling and texture. Their performances across Southern Africa — including Homecoming Festival, House of Vans, Basha Uhuru, Up The Creek Festival, and MTN Bushfire Festival — reflect a restless, genre-defying approach to the instrument.

Together, they meet Zola Marcelle in an immersive live configuration where bass becomes voice, foundation, and conversation — shifting between structure and improvisation, intimacy and expansion.

This is an evening that will stay with you long after the last note fades.
