ABOUT
The Ashburton Aloe Festival is a meander of four venues open over the weekend of the 4th & 5th July between 9h00 and 4h00 each day. This is our 20th Birthday Celebration!
There is a full program of nature-based walks, talks and activities, plant sales, dog demo's, aloe sales, hot food, boeredogs, tea & cakes, coffee and pub to interest and entertain the whole family. We will post the program here as soon as it is available. The program and posts about each speaker and venue activities will go up on @AshburtonAloe Festival on Facebook prior to the event. One ticket allows entry to all venues over one day. Tickets are R50 for adults & pensioners and R30 for children. Children under 6 are free. There is a R7.50 Quicket booking fee. We regret there are no refunds. If you cannot attend your ticket fee will go towards anti-poaching fundraising. Visitors not booking online are requested to bring cash as there is limited signal in the valley for online payments. This is a conservation area, strictly no dogs are allowed.
To get there take the Ashburton exit 69 turn right to Ashburton East. Continue along Pope Ellis Drive for 5km, turn left at the Guard Hut for Venue A, continue straight for Venues B - D. We have given you the map for Venue A - Galago Farm. There will be signs on route. You can find maps for all the venues on Google Maps as follows:
Venue A - Galago Farm, D585 Ashburton East
Venue B - Mawingo Farm, D389 Ashburton East
Venue C - Impala Bend, D 389 Ashburton East
Venue D - Rocky Wonder Aloe Nursery - D 389 Ashburton East
We are east of Ashburton (away from Ashburton central towards Bishopstowe) Venues are 5km from the N3 exit (tar) and are all within a 2km radius of each other (dirt). Funds raised go to support anti-poaching activities in the Lower Mpushini Valley Conservancy. The venues all form part of the Mpushini Protected Environment Biodiversity Stewardship Nature Reserve, a 665h community Protected Environment, the first proclaimed in 2011 in KZN. This is our 20th Festival - Hope to see you there!
