Scales: The Tipping Point

Olijvenkraal Olive & Wine Estate
ABOUT
Join us for an unforgettable evening of storytelling, conservation and connection for
the screening of Scales: The Tipping Point, a powerful new documentary
supported by the Fisher Foundation, exploring the devastating realities facing the
pangolin.
The powerful 40-minute documentary follows filmmaker Bruce Young’s search to
understand why the pangolin - shy, harmless, and strangely charismatic - has become
the world’s most trafficked mammal. The film asks a simple but urgent question: what
will we lose if the pangolin disappears?
Ian McCallum - author, poet, wildlife guide and conservationist (and former Springbok
rugby player) - appears in the film and will join us after the screening for a Q&A.
Two items are to be auctioned:
1. A fine-art photographic print of a pangolin by Grant Leversha
2. A two-night stay for four guests at Zebra Hills in KZN, including a pangolin
experience. https://www.zebrahills.com/
All proceeds from the event will go towards the Fisher Foundation’s ongoing
commitment to conservation.
The evening will conclude with a curated set-menu dining experience at Fyre Dining,
bring guests together over exceptional food, conversation and shared purpose.
