An afternoon and evening of remembrance, ceremony, music and dance, held by Ylinel, Lucie & Erika Kibar.

Día de los Muertos is a Mexican tradition in which families remember loved ones who have passed through altars, flowers, stories, food and music. Inspired by its warmth and colour, we are opening House of Karuna for a gathering that honours those we miss and celebrates the life we share.

Together, we will make room for remembrance, acknowledge endings within our own lives and enjoy the simple pleasure of being together.

THE SETTING

House of Karuna is a private art and healing residence overlooking the Atlantic in Clifton. We will move between the house and garden as the afternoon unfolds into evening, from ceremony and quiet reflection into fire, music and dance.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Ancestral Altar & Remembrance Ritual

Our shared altar will remain at the heart of the gathering. You are welcome to bring a photograph, flower, letter or small personal object for someone you would like to remember.

Cacao & Grief Ceremony

We will share cacao and make space for the feelings that often receive little attention in everyday life. You are welcome to share or simply listen.

Breathwork & Vocal Toning

A guided exploration of breath and voice, flowing into the sound journey. Participate at your own pace.

Live Sound Journey

Rest and listen to a soundscape of crystal and Himalayan bowls, voice, flute, drum and other instruments.

Optional Psilocybin Microdose

Available only to those who choose to include it and have completed prior screening. This is entirely optional.

Fire Dance Performance

As daylight fades, a fire dance performance will lead us into the evening.

Ecstatic Dance & B2B DJ Set

IKA (RonYka) & Angy QQ will open the dance floor with a B2B set created especially for this gathering.

Move freely, dance together or simply enjoy the music.

Nourishing Shared Meal

Before we close, we will share a warm meal and time to connect.

WHAT TO BRING

An optional offering for the altar, comfortable clothing and a warm layer for the evening. Dress with colour if you feel inspired.

Come with someone close to you or arrive on your own. No previous experience with ceremony or dance is needed.
