Selective Live returns as your go-to Sunday experience where music,

culture, and sunset summers meet.

Holy Alpha is a South African hip hop artist from Khayelitsha,

Cape Town. She is recognised for her authentic storytelling,

raw lyricism, and powerful isiXhosa expression. Rooted in

local street and township culture.

She began her music journey in 2016 and gained national

attention in 2020 with her breakout single “Ghost,

”which

made waves across the underground scene and earned her

recognition from key industry figures. She continued to build

momentum with releases such as “Subuza,

” further

establishing her lyrical skill and artistic identity.

In August 2024, Holy Alpha released her

debut album Mama Ghost, a defining body of

work that solidified her position as one of

Cape Town’s most compelling hip hop voices.

In 2025, she featured on “Bathini” by

legendary hip hop group Driemanskap,

released on 25 November 2025, marking

another significant milestone in her career.

With a growing catalogue, notable

collaborations, and strong cultural relevance,

Holy Alpha continues to represent a bold,

authentic voice in contemporary South

African hip hop.

Holy Alpha returns with Myeke, her first single in two

years a bold reintroduction that reaffirms her place in

South African hip-hop. The track is a high-energy

Xhosa rap record built on a bouncy, hard-hitting beat,

layered with rapid, confident flows that showcase her

sharp lyricism and commanding presence.

Myeke has already received early support and co-

signs from industry heavyweights including Emtee’s

Emtee Records, Kid X, and Reason, signaling a strong

return for the Cape Town rapper.

As one of the emerging female voices in South African

hip-hop, Holy Alpha represents the rising wave of

Xhosa rap coming out of Cape Town bringing a fresh

perspective, authenticity, and undeniable energy to

the local rap landscape.
