Watercolour Workshop - Setting The Mood (Magic Complementaries) by Ambra Art Studio

Colour shouldn't overwhelm you — it should work for you by setting the mood of your painting. In this workshop you'll learn how to limit your palette with intention, use colour theory to set a mood, and build luminous shadows that glow from underneath. No guesswork, no colour anxiety — just a toolkit you'll use every time you paint.

We'll learn:

• Colour harmonies and why they work
• How to limit and unify your palette to create a specific mood
• Setting a scene: complementary under-washes, vibrant shadows and luminous layering
• Build shadows that glow rather than go muddy
• Working with a limited two-colour palette
• Make colour decisions intentionally rather than by guesswork

What you need to bring:

• All materials (paper, paint, palettes and brushes) will be supplied.
• A notebook and pen if you'd like to take some notes
• If you have your own watercolour palette, feel free to bring it along and ask questions so you can learn how to adapt what we're learning for the supplies you have on hand.
