Judith Sephuma, is an internationally acclaimed songstress and a multi-award winning artist. Dubbed The Queen of Afro Jazz, she is a prolific and versatile singer with an angelic, soft, sultry and melodic voice that has continued to dominate the airwaves for more two decades.

Since the release of her triple platinum status debut album titled A CRY A SMILE A DANCE in 2001, Judith has attracted interest and acclaim from Jazz, Afro-soul and Gospel music lovers all over the world.

By the time A CRY A SMILE A DANCE was released, Judith had already performed at several major Jazz festivals both in South Africa and internationally. These included The North Sea Jazz Festival in Holland (in 2002), where she performed alongside big names such as Marcus Miller and Roy Hargrove.

2005 saw the release of Judith’s NEW BEGINNINGS album; and in 2008 the album CHANGE IS HERE was released. In 2012, Judith travelled to Addis Ababa to perform for Heads of States and in the same year was nominated to be an ambassador of THE ONE CAMPAIGN. (ONE is a campaigning and advocacy organisation of more than 9 million people around the world who are taking action to end extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa)

In 2014, Judith travelled to Addis Ababa and Washington DC, USA to perform for Heads of State.

Judith has worked with and shared the stage with international artists like Bebe Winans, Oletta Adams, Jonathan Butler, Al Jarreau, Randy Crawford and Chaka Khan.

Her collaboration with Michael Bolton singing the old classic ‘Over the Rainbow’ and another with Kenny G on her A CRY A SMILE A DANCE album qualifies Judith as one of the best international singers and performers that South Africa has produced.

Judith’s career continues to rise and her growth as an artist and an individual is demonstrated by the mastery of her craft with every new album that she releases. Judith is a firm favourite as a headliner at festivals around Southern Africa and internationally.

Most notably being named as the “face of the Cape Town International Jazz festival”, performing at the UGU Jazz festival, Umlazi Jazz festival, Macufe, the Standard Bank Jazz Festival, Kgalagadi Jazz Festival, Nubian festival, Eastern Cape Jazz Festival, Bushbuckridge Jazz Festival, Northern Cape Heritage Festival, Tembisa Jazz Festival, Kirstenbosch Sunset Series, All White Sunday Soul Sessions, Gauteng Soul and Jazz Concert, Heritage Day festival and the Gaborone International Jazz Festival, to name but a few.

Judith produces a series of concerts under the brand “A Legendary Night” where she features guest artists in her shows. Recent collaborations under the brand include Jimmy Dludlu and Selaelo Selota which saw both shows sold out at Emperors Palace.

Simultaneously Judith regularly graces the stages at Corporate and Government events for Clients such as FNB, Standard Bank, HPCSA, Sun International, BCX, the Durban July, SA Rugby, Don Vino Saxy Vibes, Nestle´, White Star, Miss Soweto, DIRCO, Gauteng Provincial Legislature, WOC Summit.

In January 2023 Judith was invited to join the band of the iconic Hollywood film music composer Hans Zimmer for 2 performances at the Coca Cola Arena in Dubai, accompanied by a 45 piece Orchestra and dancers.

From April - June 2023 Judith once again joined the “Hans Zimmer Live Tour”, this time in Europe and the UK where they performed 34 sold out shows in 20 000 plus seater Arenas. She recently was asked to sing on the motion picture soundtrack for the movie Dune part 2, composed by Hans Zimmer and produced by Steve Mazarro alongside other well renowned artists.

Judith is currently working on a new album to be released in 2024. This is after her USA star studded studio album POWER OF DREAMS recorded in 2019 featuring a well known hit song Maropeng., Power of dreams and A man like you.
