The Tryst Woodstock
ABOUT
Suits & Sneakers hosts several events each month in Cape Town, each featuring a different guest and theme. The idea is to create a space for ongoing learning that help you broaden your thinking in a fast changing world. This event will be hosted on the evening of Wednesday, 20 May at The Tryst in Woodstock.
WHAT IS THIS EVENT ALL ABOUT?
Most conversations about the future of work feel like a funeral rehearsal. We are told to fear the machines, brace for the collapse of traditional roles, and prepare for a world where we are all eventually redundant. We spend so much energy asking "what is the worst that could happen?" that we have completely lost sight of the opportunity hiding in the chaos.
On Wednesday, 20 May, Rich Mulholland joins us for a brand new keynote titled "Get Fired Last." This is not a talk about surviving the future; it is about colonising it. Rich’s core argument is simple but provocative: while the "job" as we know it is ending, the "work" is actually expanding. We are entering a period where the companies and individuals who pay attention will not just survive, they will have the best decade of their lives.
This is a session for the optimists who are tired of the doomsday headlines. Rich will provide a fresh frame for what is coming and, more importantly, a simple method for working backwards from a future worth building. You will walk away with a sharper sense of where you and your business fit into this new landscape and the clarity to stop worrying about being replaced and start becoming indispensable.
MORE ABOUT RICHARD MULHOLLAND
Rich Mulholland is a former rock and roll roadie who operated lights for bands like Iron Maiden and Def Leppard before deciding that the average business presentation was a far greater tragedy than a missed cue. He founded the persuasion powerhouse Missing Link to fix that, and more recently, he launched Too Many Robots to help businesses navigate the world of AI.
A relentless "relevanteer" and provocateur, Rich is the author of several books, including Legacide, Boredom Slayer, and Relentless Relevance. He has spoken in over 45 countries on six continents, helping leaders stop playing it safe and start becoming a threat to the future before the future threatens them. When he is not on a global stage, you will likely find him getting tattooed, riding his Vespa, or obsessively playing board games.
