Join Sisonke Papu (KHNYSA) for the first live activation of INYIKIMA — an intimate evening of poetry, music, and deep listening.

After nine years in the making, INYIKIMA arrives in its first physical form — a book-length poem that has quietly shaped a journey into sound, breath, and listening.

This gathering marks the first live activation of the work.

Held at Jozi Gold on the eve of Africa Day, the evening unfolds as a meeting between text and sound — where poetry is spoken, expanded, and transformed through live sonic exploration.

Beginning with a gentle arrival into space, the experience moves between reading, conversation, and improvised music, featuring collaborators from KHNYSA and The Light. At times the voice leads, at times the sound carries — each informing the other in an unfolding, immersive flow. This is not a performance in the traditional sense, but a shared listening space.

An invitation to slow down, to attune, and to encounter the work as both language and vibration.

Limited first edition copies of INYIKIMA will be available on the night.
